Why the World Is the Way It Is

"Why is the world corrupt?" Alana said aloud to no one. As expected no one responded. She reached for her journal and wrote out the question. Digging through her mind she searched for an answer, but only found more questions about the question. 'God wants everything to be perfect, so why isn't Earth? Why is there pain?' she thought as she got dressed for work. As she slid into her car, she pondered why good people die. While she explained the company's stock price to Mr. Walker*, she was really thinking about why children died from hunger. When she was eating a quick lunch with Dallas, she was really wondering why young teenagers fought in wars.

"Are you okay, Alana? You look like something is on your mind," Dallas inquired, as she picked at her salad. "Oh, yeah. I've had a question on my mind all day. It came to me this morning," Alana replied. "Well, what's this important question?" he retorted. "I was getting to that, Mr. Impatient Pants. My question was: Why is the world corrupt? I mean Jesus came to save us, but why is there still horrible things going on?" Alana responded. "Oh, well, you know the story of Adam and Eve? And how they ate of the fruit?" he explained. "Of course, everyone knows that story," Alana snorted. "Good. Well, after Adam and Eve sinned they were kicked out the of Eden. Eden was heaven on Earth. Heaven is no sickness, no pain, pretty much perfection. So when mankind sinned is was put in a world full of pain, sickness, death, and hardships,” Dallas continued. “But what about Jesus? When he came shouldn’t all that be fixed?” Alana questioned. “Yes, but not all believe and have been cleansed by the blood of the lamb for their sins, so the world will stay corrupt still. But don’t worry! Philippians 2:10-11 says,’That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.’ Jesus died so that we can have eternal life and be in Heaven with him.. Our job is to share the good news so that many more can have eternal life in Heaven, too.” Dallas elaborated. “Okay. Hmm, what about the people who don’t accept the good news and stay stained with sin?” she inquired. “You know how those who believe will have eternal life?” Dallas replied, as Alana nodded in response,” Well, those who don’t will have eternal death in Hell. That’s why we have to share the good news, no matter what! But when Jesus comes back, he will bring his children into Heaven**.” “Thank-you so much. I’m so happy my question has been answered. Well, there’s my lunch break. I’ll see you later, Dallas! Bye!” Alana quickly fare welled. “Bye, Alana! Thanks for joining me!” Dallas replied.

The reason I choose this topic is because I hear many people asking,”If God is so great how come the world is the way it is?” The answer is: He already fixed it. He sent his one and only son to die on the cross for our sins so that all who believed would have eternal life ( John 3:16). We have a job to share the good news to everyone, so that we can all go back to “Eden” when Jesus comes back. But concerning problems happening around us, God gave us gifts to help find the solution***. So go and share the good news, so we can spend eternity in Heaven with God and Jesus!
